"...two streets, maybe fifteen buildings, and then dust plains all around. Almost everything—natural and human-made—is some shade of beige. There's a bus depot. A couple of stores. One tiny patch of grass that's passing as a park."

-Emily, describing Blackrock in The Lost Days

Blackrock is the small town that Emily Strange finds herself in at the start of her adventures in the HarperCollins novels. [1] The town is described as a small, dusty town in the middle of nowhere.

Blackrock is the location of the El Dungeon, where Emily meets Raven after erasing her memory and living in a makeshift cardboard "lean-to" in the adjacent alleyway.

Blackrock is named after Emily's mystical ancestral birthright, which Emily uses to power her inventions and mutate her plants. [2]
